Close, Not exactly. APS has a different aspect ratio (width:height)
than 35mm film. So there are different "multipliers", depending upon
whether you consider the width, the height, or the diagonal.

This also puts lie to the claim that the "MID" and "BASIC" tier of
EOS digital SLRs have "APS" sized sensors.
