My 20D with battery grip (& 2 batteries) is only getting about
500-600 exposures per charge.
The batteries are Canon originals about 4 months old and my usual
lens is a 24-70 2.8 L (no IS to help kill batteries).
Is this normal???? I thought I'd be getting over 1000 exposures per
charge. I don't review the photos after each shot and power saving is
set to 2 minutes.
Are you getting more shots when you don't use the grip but have the
battery in the camera? There seem to be design flaw with the grip.
Canon offers a free repair. Look at the 20D support section of the Canon
US website for details.

I haven't tried it without the grip (the grip is so handy). I wonder if using
the grip with one battery would make a difference? I've mentioned this problem a
few times to the Sales Manager (who sold me the camera) and he doesn't seem
interested in solving it.
I'll have a look at the Canon website.
Thanks for the info
Rob
