Is the new Speedlite 580 flash so-much better that the 550?
I've the feeling that my 550 is not always constant. Some picture (in
the same situation) get more light than others.
I have both flashes, and to me the 580 is a real improvement in ease of
use. The one button head rotation feature is SOOO much easier and
faster than poking around for two release buttons on the 550. Just
shoot an event such as a wedding when you have to make quick vertical
and horizontal flash changes and you really appreciate the 580. I also
prefer the dial power output adjust on the 580 compared to searching
and trying to push the tiny buttons on the 550. I also use the external
battery pack for the 580 with Lithium batteries, and this makes a very
impressive performing flash setup.
