I use folders that look like YYYY/MM/DD/ to store my pictures. The big danger is that two (or three) of the cameras I use will happen to reach the same sequence numbers on the same day. So far I've only had that kind of overlap happen once (a few weeks ago, in fact). The directories are mirrored as a series of small (640 by 427) images that are then thumbnailed down to 175 by 117. A web page is generated that shows the tiny thumbnails one month at a time. Clicking on a thumbnail brings up the larger (640 by 427) version. From there I can easily grab the full size jpeg or the raw file. I keep an index of important shots with keywords so I can look some things up easily. I got my first Nikon Coolpix in January 2000, upgraded it once, then moved to a 300D in October 2003, a 20D a year later, and then the 5D last week. I seem to only have ever taken 106926 images. -- void *(*(*schlake(void *))[])(void *); * **** ******* *********************************************************** * For list instructions, including unsubscribe, see: * http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_list.htm ***********************************************************
