I use Google's Picasa and it's a wonder how it has solved most of my organizational problems. Of course, it's RAW conversion engine is FAAAR from Adobe's but "send to Photoshop" solves this situation. I'm amazed at how fast it can read the RAW files with the added value of non-intrusive meta-data with the Google technology there to find what you're looking for.
