They also announced the ZS line, whoch will fit an EOS with an M42 adapter.

Or the ZF line will fit the EOS with a Nikon-EOS adapter. The latter
is more expensive, but not for me as I have one already. As for zooms
and AF, it seems unlikely as Zeiss has not shown a willingness to
compromise their tolerance standards for an AF mount, and a zoom
without AF seems like a neither/nor situation.
As I understand it, Cosina is producing some, if not all of the Zeiss
branded lenses as they are already heavily involved with Zeiss on the
Contax camera and lenses, and they have the capability, capacity and
interest in doing so. It's just the kind of thing that Mr. Kobayashi
likes. This is what makes the lenses competitive with MF Nikon lenses
while meeting or exceeding the optical standards.

Subject: EOS Will Zeiss make EF compatible lenses?
Zeiss is making ZF lenses for Nikon now. They are fixed focal
and manual focus. I don't know if they plan to make them auto
focus and zoom at some point. Being without a 35mm SLR family
to graft on, Zeiss is a good lens family without a home.
Would they go the way of 3rd party like Sigma/Tamron/Tokina
but steer toward higher end? Will they make EF compatible
lenses at some point? That will surely be an interesting
option for all EOSers and give a good competition for L glass
at places.
Thanks,
> Francis
