I've always been a big advocator of burning at 1X, especially DVDs. The
problem is it's getting to be more difficult all the time. I've been using
Maxell DVD-R for the past couple years. I've burned many hundreds of discs.
I just received a new batch of 200 blank media... basically the same stuff
I've been buying and now I see the new stuff has a Write Strategy of 4X...
meaning it's the slowest burn rate available on my writers. I've tried all
three of my writers and multiple applications and they all come up with 4X
as the slowest option. I'm not real comfortable about suddenly being
required to burn everything at a minimum speed of 4X.
