So I cleaned the filter on my 100-400 and shot a home made test target, three times at each aperture, mirror lock, self timer, 400mm on a 10D. Raw mode, convert to jpg in Capture 1. Then average the jpg file sizes for each aperture. A graph of the results, with and without filter, is shown here:
