Even though the perspective will change from 15 to 24 on an EOS 30D, the properties of the lens remain and this INCLUDES the distortion. The only difference is that you are in a sense cropping. Case in point, take a wide angle, shoot it close to get a dog nose effect of a particular subject. Meaning you will elongate the nose or center portion of a subject. Now take some paper and crop it down to about 1/2 the size. You will still have the dog nose effect. It is the properties of the lens that remain, even though you are using a smaller portion of it.
