Marco,

Depends on what you want... Personally, I find the Rebels (300D/350D)
to be a tad on the cheap side. Too small to fit my hands. Awkward user
interface (especially changing aperture in manual mode is a royal
PITA). No mirror lock-up. But if those things don't bother you, then
by all means save your bucks and buy a Rebel/RebelXT because the image
quality of the Rebel, 10D and XT, 20D is the same (at least as far as
sensor resolution and from what I can tell image processing
software/firmware goes). The mirror lockup on the 10D, 20D, and up
will give you an edge with longer glass, macro lenses (which I happen
to use quite a bit), and slower shutter speeds.

Two years ago when I went digital, I bought a 10D. The things that
bother me with the 10D are the turn-on delay (about two seconds), the
viewfinder (it's rather challenging at times to see if things are in
focus or not even with my 31 year-old eyes), and auto-focus
performance (really only an issue in low light or when shooting action
-- I shoot some college hockey games).
To get better AF and viewfinder, I will need a 1-series body. I'm
still debating if I'm willing to shell out $4k on a 1D II N or not...

If I were you, I'd be looking at a used 20D... Best bang for the buck IMO.
