Marco,

I think #2 & #3 are best. You will be fine and the photos will look great!

Thanks Peter!! :)

And I agree... Indoors are hard but so are outdoors in variable lighting.
It's good that you have practiced... Now relax and don't be afraid to take
charge in a nice way on the day :-)

Practiced fill in flash for variable lightings (I will shot the couple from
18.30 to 19.00 in the evening...) It may be cloudy, I will get good result
with diffused light...
Hope so :)

Don't sweat it. It'll work out. Shoot what you desire. Plug your brain in
prior to the wedding... ;-)

Much, much, MUCH better than your first attempt!!!!!

You burned out the background highlights (bright parts of the statue) on the
first two shots. Try increasing the shutter speed by 0.5-1 stop. The flash
exposure is much more pleasing than your first shots!

PLUG IN THE BRAIN!!! Forgot to put in the "to do" list!!!! :) :)

That statue is difficult, but I will shot from the other side, because I can
get the bride better, and that side has no "additional" lighting...
If I catch that in a "fast" moment I will try to correct the RAW exposure
later...

Hi Marco,

Yes, the main area where the noise shows up is the grey wall above the
confessional box. If you have the chance, try to avoid getting that wall in
the finder ;-). Or go to ISO 800 when you cannot avoid it - do remember to
go back to ISO 1600 afterwards! Actually, in real life this isn't good
advice - you don't want to be messing around with the ISO setting during the
shoot, just try to avoid that wall ;-). Contrasty subjects (like the
colourful crowds ;-) may help distract the viewer of your pictures...

Your shots DO look a lot more professional than your first attempt. They
have a much more "natural look" to them, I like it! Good thing you
practiced, this gives you confidence with your new equipment.

... and sit really still ;-). What I want to say is: mind moving subjects
with these slow speeds (when NOT using flash). It may be better to use flash
as a fill-in feature. This would help you freeze subject movement with these
shutter speeds...

Very good, but why not use this mode ALL the time? This would IMOHO make
your shooting easier - give you more time to focus on the things that are
happening, rather then thinking about what mode to use...

I've shot some dogshows and there as well, you don't have time to think
about camera settings. This might not be the ideal comparison, but regarding
the action and lighting conditions...

Looks like you're planning this really well!
My guess is you're a bit nervous fopr the shoot, but hey - that's just
healthy. You've prepared yourself and your equipment so have confidence!
Surely you'll mess up a couple of shots, but at least you'll see immediately
and have a chance to correct yourself. Overall, you'll do fine and you
should be able to return with a lot of "keepers".

Finally, if you have time to do so, try to get a couple of pictures from an
unusual angle (like from the pulpit, choir or chancel). It's always nice to
have 1 or 2 pictures that provide a bit of an overview... Usually, the
couple likes pictures that give an overall impression - the way the "crowd"
see the ceremony...

The lady-altar may also be an interesting place. Over here, it's a tradition
for the bride and groom to go to the lady-altar ALLONE and light a couple of
candles for the loved ones that are no longer with us. We asked the
photographer to be there too, make a shot or two and than buzz off! This
resulted in what turned out to be the best picture of the entire wedding.
Not just emotionally ;-)

Good luck and please share your results!

Cheers, Stefan

Thank for this mail :)
Love keep up in learning :)

Switching ISO will be a little problematic for me... I've noticed that wall,
searched a little in Google... Tried Noise Ninja... Very good results,
softens a little the image, but, WOW no remaining noise...
ill try to sharpen the image after the noise removing...

Thanks for the appreciation of this shots :) You of the board made this
possible :)

I will shot with flash a lot of crucial moments (1/30 - 1/40) but I will
shot with no flash a lot more without disturbing the ceremony, and trying to
get some "real" expressions of the couple :)

For the inside I will use M mode not really worrying too much about exposure
(ok ok I'll look at it but, I cannot make many changes cause of the dark
ambient)
Outside I will be shooting in Av (to get DOF as I want) keeping an eye to
the shutter time... And of course in this mode the flash will be in fill in
mode...

Thanks for "crowd" perspective idea a good tip! :D
The lady-altar is the altar of the Mother of Christ? Sorry for my bad
English, but I still miss some vocabulary :) :)
Unfortunately there isn't the candle ritual... :(

Thanks Stefan!

AND Thanks to all the board!!!

Marco
