For owners of older generations Kodak/Canon DSLR's, struggling to
find an universal PCMCIA-reader, instead of changing the in-camera
card to an CompactFlash -> PCMCIA adapter-card (some/most/all? of
which will not fit inside a device/camera, hence only good for
reading CF-cards into a computer (with PCMCIA-slot)), I finally found
a decent solution....a PCMCIA -> Compact-Flash adapter (and from
there to any modern/cheap USB multi-card reader of course, including
storage-devices (harddisk or CD/DVD-burner) with a matching slot:

Note that thusfar I have only been able to find one single portable
USB-device that reads PCMCIA....and at 129 euro, it's hideously
expensive:

Willem (still baffled by the abundance of multi-card-readers on the
market, mobile & stationairy, yet all without PCMCIA-slot) Jan

(on the PhotoKina 2002 and 2004, I was told by at least one
manufacturer that such a beast exists (stationary), but I never
managed to find a retailer carrying it)

PS: do remember me if you ever see a Canon/Kodak DCS1ir/3ir/5ir for
sale!....;))
(I only recently learned that such a version existed for every type,
before I thought it only came as 3ir)
(as I had never seen or read about any other version (yet one only
once for sale too!))
