camera came shipped with this firmware ... I downloaded and reinstalled it
lastnight just incase

another 90Euro for another 1Gig card hmmm ... I can see that this is really
saving me money over using film

having read of many people's hassles in the past in dealing with them, no, I
haven't. Given that I can't reliably reproduce any errors (they appear to be
random) I can't imagine what they'd say ... Plus I'm in Finland, and I
bought the camera in Australia (where I'm from)

as I'd expect too !! I had a friend using a Kodak in Antarctica, he never
reported such issues to me. However reading the specs from many CF makers
some don't rate their cards below 0 deg C.

I must say that I'm getting pretty tired of this camera and all the hassles
involved in just taking pictures.

I'm thinking that a Ni%on Coolscan LS-50 for 1/2 the price of the 20D body
would have been the far far better option (I don't do photo journalism,
sports or people).

So far its needed:
$600 extra for the privelidge of ownership (compared to 14bit 4000dpi
scanner),
$100 extra in media (the 512 I had for my 3MP camera just wasn't enough)
$100 for a 18mm lens (to get close to the 24mm's that I already own)
large amounts of wasted time and hassle
and to top it off I can't use any of my flash gear.

That's quite a bit of film and processing.

I'm thinking of eBaying the bloody thing
