Gary,

One of my coworkers shoots gymnastics. Sells a bit to participants,
parents, etc. You'd be surprised of some the shots that sell. People
don't really care if a shot is technically well-composed. They just
want something recognizable in the frame. At least at times it seems
that way. They're obviously way more impressed if the images are well
composed. There's nothing wrong with letting them know that you're not
a pro and it's one of your first times shooting soccer. Thus, they get
what they get... But that if they'd like to buy some of your shots
they're welcome to. Figure out ahead of time how much you'll change
them (don't undersell yourself too much. It's a lot of work to
organize all those prints). Limit the number of print sizes you offer.
Edit the shots and show parents a proof sheet. Don't show them the
shots that "didn't turn out" (I hate that term). Don't show your dirty
underwear.

Pattie and Tom, thanks for your tips. You guys have great photos at your
sites. I'll try the tips out on Saturaday! And yes, a couple of parents
have asked last week if I could sell them some photos. I think I would just
give it out this time as I'm not entirely comfortable with sports photo yet.

I'll keep you guys posted. :)

Thanks again,
