OK folks, here's another freaky problem. I was taking some wedding pictures at the weekend with my 10D/28-80. Took 2 pictures of the same group, using the self timer, camera on a tripod. On one the group looks normal, filling the frame horizontally. On the other it has been compressed laterally. The vertical coverage is identical in both, the lens is recorded as being at 28mm for both. The only explanation I can think of is that the camera rotated on the tripod just as it took the picture, assuming the 10D has a horizontal plane shutter. Could the acceleration of the first shutter blind cause the camera to move? Any other explanations? I haven't brought the images in with me, so can't post them anywhere just yet, but could do so tomorrow.
