Thanks for the info Mike.
Assuming I connect the pack to the camera body using the camera's tripod
socket, is there another tripod socket on the battery pack itself that
can be used to mount the entire rig on a tripod?

I'm pretty sure that's the pack I have. I don't have it here in front of me
but it has a hole all the way through with a screw that you screw through
the pack and into your body's tripod socket. There is no other attachment
mechanism. You might be able to rig something but natively it won't work.
You could probably use the case to strap it to a leg or something. Or get
even more creative with some velcro and/or bungie cords...

Subject: EOS cp-e3 - tripod socket available?
Hi
I'm thinking of getting a CP-E3 battery pack for my 550ex. I'm planning
to attach the battery pack to the bottom of my camera using the tripod
socket.
Does anyone know if the CP-E3 has a tripod socket?
I'd like to have the option of mounting the camera+CP-E3 on a tripod.
Thanks
Rob
