Very observant! There is no connection, but the concept is really intriguing. All it takes is an entirely separate gear bag, and an entirely new computer setup with a LOT of ram! But if I could shoot windsurfing pictures that are as wonderful as that sample, I'd be all over the concept.

I've had a Roundshot for a couple of years, and it's a marvelous camera. Only thing is, mine takes 120/220 film, and a fairly small bag. This thing, even in the 6x17 version, is HUGE. Did you see the picture of the guy holding one for a vertical shot???

Also, it needs a good PDA to function as the controller, and a dedicated MacMini for data transfer. Depending on how the firmware is set up, it needs to transfer between 500mb and 1.25gb/sec. In 360 degree mode with 80mm lens, it will produce a 470mp image, with a compressed raw file size close to 1 gigabyte, and this huge file is for a shot that the camera produces in 2 seconds.

ISO sensitivities up to 10,000 make this possible.
