Interesting website Howard. Some lovely work in there. I, too, use a non-Canon wide angle on a 1D - but not a Ds, a 1DmarkII. It's a Pentax K15mm 3.5 dating back from the 1970's and I use it almost exclusively for landscapes. I'd love to try it out on a 'full-frame' Canon and I'm hoping to pick up the 1D incumbent in a couple of years. After nearly 30 years as a staff news cameraman, I've had to turn self- employed and set up my own business, which puts the stills on hold for a while as broadcast gear is an order of magnitude more expensive... Here's a page showing the Frankenlens: <http://www.cottysnaps.com/snaps/mods/k15ineos.html> and here's a comparison between said lens and a Smegma 14mm 2.8 illustrating flare: <http://www.cottysnaps.com/snaps/spare3.html> and here's a pretty girl with Pentax A*85mm 1.4: <http://www.cottysnaps.com/snaps/portraits/images/pic26.html> and just to keep it on-topic and illustrate the fantastic workhorse EF 24-70mm 2.8 L: <http://www.cottysnaps.com/snaps/nature/images/pic29.html> and er, that's it. -- Cheers, Cotty ___/\__ || (O) | People, Places, Pastiche ||=====| http://www.cottysnaps.com _____________________________ * **** ******* *********************************************************** * For list instructions, including unsubscribe, see: * http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_list.htm ***********************************************************
