Question: what other lenses in the Canon line-up have had this impact on
you?

Hi Ken,
I had some pretty impressive results a few years ago from my EF 200 f2.8L on
my 10D, and more recently on my 30D. The 50 f1.4 simply delivers, as does
the 50 f2.5 Compact macro which makes a superb travel lens. It's light, and
on my 5D covers landscape and architecture without distortion as well as
close-ups of any flowers etc. I come across.
I just wish that the good aspects of the 135 f2 could be had in a lighter
and more compact f2.8* (or even f3.5) version. With film I often used a 135
f2.8 as a walk-about lens. I feel that the f2L is too heavy and intrusive
for that role. (* I took my f2.8SF last week when I wanted a lighter weight
135.)
