All,
I know there is EF-S 10-22, but I think I heard
someting about an EF
(not -S) L-series lens becoming available. I can't
seem to find it
though (it is no listed in the offical Canon EF lens
lineup), so I guess
I got something wrong. Or did I?
On that note, does anyone have the EF-S 10-22 and
how satisfied are you
with it?
There was a rumor repeated here, before PMA, that
referenced a new 10-22, without specifying the -S.
Such a lens was not announced at PMA, however, so at
this point it's vaporware.
I have the 10-22 EF-S and am very happy with it. I've
not done any direct comparisons of other lenses with a
similar focal length range, but the 10-22 is, IMHO,
very good. Relatively low levels of distortion for the
focal length, and quite sharp.

I don't suffer from insanity... I enjoy every minute of it.
hmmm..... I don't think Canon would try a 10-22 EF at this point.
It would be huge - see Sigma's 12-24. A 10-22 would be significantly
larger since going from 12 down to 10 is a giant leap optically, and
Canon would not produce a lens with a lesser mount than a Sigma.
Also, you could expect a price in the $3000+ range.
Probably thinking of a '10-22 equivalent in full-frame', ie, the new 16-35.
