I posted here earlier when I was considering the purchase of a 3rd Party
Tripod Foot on eBay for my 70-200 f4 L IS. Thought I'd follow up with how
it worked out.

Obviously, the incentive to try this was that it's so much less than the OEM
version - $49 plus $18 for shipping from China. So, I decided to give it a
shot and it took about 2 weeks to arrive through the mail.

It fit the lens perfectly and seems solid in all respects. The color
doesn't quite match the Canon lens - it's a bit warmer - no biggy. Instead
of the slick milky plastic inside the ring, there is black liner that gave
me some concern, as it didn't seem like the lens would be able to rotate
against it as smoothly as the Canon ring. However, when I mounted the lens
and camera on a tripod, rotation was smooth and easy.

So, bottom line, it's a keeper!
