I agree that the Sigma 10-20mm is a very capable lens. I regularly use that lens and a Canon 10-22mm. The Canon is *very slightly* sharper (but the difference is visible only when viewing at 100%, and even then it's subtle). Bearing in mind the price difference and the fact that the Sigma includes a lens hood, the Sigma is (in my opinion) the better buy. Having said that, the extra 2mm at the "long" end can make quite a difference at these wide angles.

But I have no experience of any of the other wide-angle lenses you mentioned.
