Before starting the installation, I see only this link - https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=epel-6&arch=x86_64. I do not think it will help.
I removed epel-release-6-8.noarch and saw next error: Could not get metalink https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=epel-6&arch=x86_64 error was 14: problem making ssl connection I replaced https on http in /etc/yum.repos.d/epel.repo.
