-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fedora EPEL Update Notification FEDORA-EPEL-2025-b13c6d8276 2025-02-28 02:58:19.563233+00:00 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : spamassassin-iXhash2 Product : Fedora EPEL 8 Version : 2.05 Release : 27.el8 URL : https://mailfud.org/iXhash2/ Summary : SpamAssassin plugin to lookup e-mail checksums in blacklists Description : iXhash2 is an unofficial improved version of the iXhash spam filter plugin for SpamAssassin, adding async DNS lookups for performance and removing unneeded features but fully compatible with the iXhash 1.5.5 (https://sourceforge.net/projects/ixhash/) implementation. It computes MD5 checksums of fragments of the body of an e-mail and compares them to those of known spam using DNS queries to a RBL-like name server. So it works similar to the standard plugins that use the Pyzor, Razor and DCC software packages from within SpamAssassin. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Information: Remove retired iXhash blacklists from default configuration and provide only example configuration (#2345751, #2346368) Read also the articles âSpam filter: DNS blacklist Nixspam ceases operationâ and âDie Ãra der ix.dnsbl.manitu.net geht zu Endeâ (only German) - and finally update your existing mail server/anti-spam configurations, please. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ChangeLog: * Wed Feb 19 2025 Robert Scheck <[email protected]> 2.05-27 - Remove retired iXhash blacklists from default configuration and provide only example configuration (#2345751, #2346368) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- References: [ 1 ] Bug #2345751 - Use of nixspam which got shutdown 2025-01-16 (Fedora all + epel all) https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2345751 [ 2 ] Bug #2346368 - dnsbl.manitu.net is out of service https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2346368 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This update can be installed with the "yum" update programs.
