Fedora EPEL Update Notification
FEDORA-EPEL-2026-eb3ade1bb6
2026-01-31 17:59:43.587878+00:00
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Name : duo_unix
Product : Fedora EPEL 9
Version : 2.2.3
Release : 1.el9
URL : https://duo.com/
Summary : Duo two-factor authentication for UNIX systems
Description :
Duo provides simple two-factor authentication as a service via:

    1. Phone callback
    2. SMS-delivered one-time passcode
    3. Duo mobile app to generate one-time passcode
    4. Duo mobile app for smartphone push authentication
    5. Duo hardware token to generate one-time passcode

This package allows an admin (or ordinary user) to quickly add Duo
authentication to any UNIX login without setting up secondary user
accounts, directory synchronization, servers, or hardware.

Update Information:

Update to 2.2.3
This comes with the new CA bundle; versions < 2.1.0 will stop working on 2/2:
https://help.duo.com/s/article/9451?language=en_US
One potentially breaking change is that su now asks the target user for 2FA
instead of the requesting user, as of version 2.0.0 - arguably this is the safer
behavior anyway:
https://github.com/duosecurity/duo_unix/releases/tag/duo_unix-2.0.0
Not landing this until it clears the incompatible request process:
