Hi Geoff It sounds like you're rather frustrated!
As you've discovered, Epiphany uses the Mozilla Gecko rendering engine, so it requires that Mozilla is also installed. If you have a closer look at the exact message, you should be able to figure out which bit you're missing. >From running "rpm -qRp <epiphany RPM>", the two obvious dependencies are: - libgtkembedmoz.so (.so means a shared object, or library file) - mozilla = 37:1.7.10 (at least version 1.7.10 of the CentOS mozilla package) It's been a while since I've used Red Hat, but I think you can run "yum search <missing program>" from a command prompt to see which packages you can install to satisfy these dependencies. The documentation also shows how to use yum to install packages that are not in the main repositories (in other words, downloaded separately). http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/yum/sn-yum-installing-frompackage.html I'm not sure where to find the equivalent documentation for CentOS, but Fedora is the bleeding-edge community version of Red Hat. Most of the information about Fedora should apply to RHEL and CentOS. If the instructions there work for you, please report back here so that someone can update the Epiphany download instructions to include this information. You could even create an account and add the information yourself. http://live.gnome.org/Epiphany_2fDownloads If the instructions there don't work for you, I'd suggest trying to find a mailing list or support forum. Both the Fedora people and the CentOS people should be happy to provide more assistance. The Fedora Project's support information is at http://fedora.redhat.com/participate/communicate/, while the CentOS support is under the Support link on the CentOS home page. It's better to start out there, especially in the case of installing new software, since each Linux distribution has different tools, and the people who know the flavor you're using will be best able to give you the specifics. If you can afford $200,000 for Windows licenses, you could also have a look a Red Hat support agreement. These guys should be able to give you the backup you need. https://www.redhat.com/support/ _______________________________________________ epiphany-list mailing list [email protected] http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/epiphany-list
