but to make a long story short: I think there is little conceptual difference between a history and a bookmark item. A bookmark can be defined as a persistent history item, and a history item can be defined as a volatile bookmark.
There may still be a different UI geared towards different use cases ("you know the bookmark title" vs "you only know you visited some site last Friday at lunchtime").
