This is a known bug in 3.2.x (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=665755), probably fallout from a GTK+ change. If someone comes up with a fix we'll release another 3.2.x version, but right now we are quite focused on 3.4, which does not have a bookmarks bar (so this bug does not really apply).
