Hi,
I am trying to use Whatsapp Web as a web app on Epiphany, and overall
it works as expected. However, when I try to download a file
"attached" to a message, Epiphany tries to open a
"blob:https://web.whatsapp.com/..." URL on Chrome, which -- obviously
-- fails. Even stranger is the fact that this only seems to happen on
Fedora 29: I also use Ubuntu 18.04, and there Epiphany handles the
downloads just fine.
Well Fedora has a much more recent Epiphany than Ubuntu, so not
surprising it might have broken between Ubuntu 18.04 and Fedora 29.
This reminds me of https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=788576,
but that fix predates either distro. I'd more likely suspect the
changes to how web apps work between 3.28 and 3.30. I would report an
issue for it on https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/epiphany/issues. Does it
work outside of web app mode?
If any developers have a Whatapp account and want to try bisecting it,
that'd be the easiest way to get it fixed.
