Greetings:
The video is not attempting to recommend how to make and support
laws. Its limited purpose is to dispel some common myths concerning
the terms, democracy and republic, and the terms, left and right, as
they apply to political forms of rule.
It accomplishes this modest goal.
Your vitriol is misplaced.
We could probably have a mutually pleasant disagreement over political
issues, perhaps even a mutually enlightening debate.
If that is your wish, then I would be pleased to participate.
I enjoy the mutual respect of associates with whom I strongly disagree
on matters important to us. Our discussions are frequently lively,
even heated, but never ad hominem. For some reason, the anonymity of
the internet seems to foment personal attacks, rudeness, and even
vulgarity. Which is quite the opposite of what one might expect,
given that online, one has available the time to reflect on the
other's expressions, compose a thoughtful reply, and look forward to
reciprocity. Alas! Expectations are so frequently disappointed.
