You don't hear that phrase often, do you? Do you think it is appropriate to say that a group/category of people has "poor epistemological standards" when that group/category has a history of making wrong decisions with a strong sense of conviction? For example, consider jurors and judges convicting defendants who, after years in prison, are exonerated by DNA evidence. And, what about government officials who wage war because they falsely believe that there are "weapons of mass destruction" in Iraq? Can you think of a better phrase to describe them?
