You have to launch the node on a predefined port before starting the
application. The way you started it, a random port is assigned, and the
server can naturally not connect to the client. On
<http://www.equalizergraphics.com/documents/design/residentNodes.html>
pre-started render clients are documented. Let me know if this is not enough
to get it running.
