Hi, I don't know if you're tight to DS, however iPOJO provides a handler supporting this kind of interactions (white-board pattern). The white-board pattern handler (http://felix.apache.org/site/white-board-pattern-handler.html) allows a component to track services based on a filter without necessary specifying the object class (service interface). We use this handler in a device access-like framework to track "marked" services (i.e. service with properties matching the specified filter).

My use case is that I want all services that have certain service properties regardless the type of the service.
