It is possible to use the version of Equinox bundled with AJDT for Eclipse 3.4. This is known to work on Eclipse 3.4. The source code is available from the ajdt update site. I'd recommend using the dev build of AJDT 2.0.1:

There was a bad Equinox bug in 3.4.1 that sometimes caused infinite restarts when adding the weaving hook to the config.ini. This bug was fixed in 3.4.2.
