Pierre,

Thank you very much. I am not sure what you mean by "relaunching" the bug, please let me know what I need to do on my side to get this going. Meanwhile I did more search and came up with the following that I believe will be helpful:

1. JXTA/JXSE is moving to a new place: http://jxse.kenai.com/index.html
2. The JXSE 2.6 (which is in beta) has a number of things for OSGi; their documentation for the new stuff in 2.6 is located at http://jxse.kenai.com/Developers/Developers.html and in there, they talk about OSGi and integration with Felix. 3. There is an independent project "jxta-eclipse" at https://jxta-eclipse.dev.java.net/ which provides Eclipse plugins for JXTA.

I hope these help; I love to see JXTA as an ECF provider.

Many thanks,
Ali.

I will re-open the bug if you will relaunch the bug here https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=135452

I will follow ..

    Hi Ali,

The Eclipse Communication Framework [1] project has a provider
architecture, allowing the use of arbitrary protocols to implement
    common APIs.
Some years ago, one of our committers (Pierre Henry-Perret) did
some work to implement a jxta provider [2]. This work was not
completed...however, I believe some of it can/could be migrated
forward. I'm including Pierre on this thread so that he can be
    engaged directly.

As I recall, the classnotfound issues reported on the bug [2] were
due to some of the third party lib dependencies in jxta (e.g.
log4j) not being resolved correctly. With Orbit and/or other
means, these issues are easily resolved.

        Hello everyone.

I was wondering if anyone has successfully tried using JXTA
(or JXSE, to be more precise) and Equinox. Searching for OSGi
and JXTA on Google gives a bunch of hits but the reports are
mixed and mostly talk about some classloader issues and
haven't seen any successful report so I thought maybe someone
on this list may have tried or know of such an effort.

        Many thanks
        Ali.
