I have confirmed with Thomson Reuters that the ability to use "MetaStock format" local data has been removed in the latest upgrade - MetaStock version 12. It is locked down to only use Thomson Reuters data.
If you use a data provider other than Thomson Reuters, such as PremiumData, or might want to consider a different data vendor in the future, then you should NOT upgrade to MetaStock version 12. If you do uprade, you will be locked into using the Thomson Reuters data feeds. Best regards, Richard Dale.
