I haven't had the problem. A few ideas to try. 1. I guess you already tried rebooting after the uninstall. 2. Did you search for "Equis" as well as "Metastock" when cleaning the Windows Registry? 3. Microsoft Support http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2438651 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310750 4. You could also try a registry cleaner. There is a free version at http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner Regards Stuart --- In [email protected], "Fib1618" <fib1618@...> wrote: > > I run MS7.2 and am having a few hassles so I thought I would reinstall it as > when I tried to start it, the message I get says -- there's another copy > of MS running and MS7.2 won't start > of course there's not > looked at Task Manager to solve the problem - which also says there's no > other MS running so thought I'd uninstall it > I get the same message -- can't uninstall as another copy is running > also cleaned the Registry of unused links etc > > of course I can just delete the folder in C/: but i'll still be left with it > in Control Panel > > I use XP -- has anyone had a similar problem ? > any suggestions how to uninstall it or solve it another way > > thanks > Keith >
