I am not a friend of Windows 8 so I replaced it with Windows 7 on my new Toshiba laptop. Then I transferred my Equis program files and downloaded Metastock 11. Next, I downloaded the Metastock Data files and everything transferred well. I now have a proper backup for my older Sony VAIO laptop with Windows XP which is 5 years old and running quite well. I am using everything for end-of-day although the program I own is the Metastock PRO with Quote Center. I was very uncomfortable with Windows 8 but have heard that there is a Windows 8.1 that has kind of put back the Start button that Microsoft took out. When we moved 3 years back, I lost my entire box of older programs and add-ons for Metastock.. what a bummer.

My hard drive is failing (Error 301 – and now will not run many installed programs such as Metastock). I’d like to upgrade to a new Intel 4th gen I-7 laptop so I would be able to process my Canon Raw files and Excel spreadsheets more efficiently. MS 12 with their data subscription is not an option. I’d prefer to upgrade my laptop but if I have to install a new hard drive in a 5 year old computer, I will.
