My intention with the blog was to show how one can manage one's money using technical analysis tools and software like Metastock as well as journalize some of my Sunday morning thoughts... My daughter has asked me to write about some of my work and the best i could come up with was the blog. It is kind of like a journal or diary. I feel quite comfortable with the systems I use but my weakness has been listening to market gurus and following their thinking against my own systems. I have vowed to not do that anymore.
Once a month I do a 401K analysis on my two 401ks. It is based on a momentum system and I believe I wrote about it in a previous post. It is very effective. I was able to maintain a flat 401K performance in 2008 which was quite satisfactory against such a down market. It came back in 2009 with a 23% return. I like to use weekly charts on my 401K mutual funds. The slow system I use on SPY is made with ICE. It is the best one that I have seen.. As far as the indicators, I do not share what each one is other than with a very close group of friends from mcubed (Michigan Money Makers). I particularly like my cycle indicators and one day will ask Roy to help me create an expert and back testing method. Regards, Rvalue
