Assuming the securities are fairly liquid (so the occurrences you mention are 
not too frequent) I would go about it as follows:

1. Download MetaStock Data Conversion CommandLine Utils from
http://www.oocities.org/mimansoor/MsCmdLineUtils.html. Use the 
groups.google.com/group/metastockcmdlineutils for any support.

2. Convert the security data files to text files.

3. Search for 0,0,0,0,0 in the text files. I don't know the DOS syntax so I 
would use the shareware Total Commander from http://www.ghisler.com. Once 
installed go to the directory the text files are in, select them, use 
Command/Search. Check the "Find text" box and type in 0,0,0,0,0. Check the 
"Only search in selected directories/files" box.

4. Once the securities and dates are identified I would correct the data in the 
original data files using MetaStock Downloader.
