Metastock its so difficult, the company has to do something to reinvent the
business.

I used to be Metastock client 4 years ago. Now I used screeners of various
companies, they are easy to use, web based, no setups tons of indicators, no
downloads, no problems.

Probably Ive never understand the real power of Metastock, but the company has
to do something to atract new clients.

Do you trading simple KISS works great!

Can you also help me on this data topic,...   I currently use MS10 with TC2000
data,... I use the TC2000 - Smart Export to Metastock - feature and get up to
256 symbols downloaded directly to Metastock format after I download data for
TC2000 Does anyone know if this capability will still work if I was to upgrade
to MS13?   Thanks,   -- Bill   ----- Original Message ----- From: L.P. Carhartt

Subject: RE: [EquisMetaStock Group] Question on Data and MS XIII   Hi Harry,

There are major differences between MS 12/13 and previous versions.  Previous
versions could use local data in either .dat format (MetaStock format) or
import 8 column .csv files (for OHLCV import).  MS 13 can now use the latter
local data (.csv files) but not the .dat files.  If you are using MS 13 to
retrieve data (in .dat format) for other analysis programs, you are currently
out of luck.  MS 13 provides no method for saving local OHLCV data (there is no
Downloader).  On the other hand, previous MS versions continue to work and
include the Downloader for saving OHLCV data to your local drive.  Personally,
I use the current MetaStock version but also kept my Reuters Datalink
subscription so I can continue using MetaStock ’s Downloader (allowing me to
save and store OHLCV datafiles locally).  MS 12/13 cannot use this local data,
but, like you, I use it for other programs that can read and use MetaStock
format files.

I will shortly be upgrading my plug-ins for older versions of MetaStock to the
current versions.  When done, you will be able to import .csv local data of any
number of columns and use it in MetaStock as well as export any values in
MetaStock to any format you need for use outside of the program.  Give me a
month or two.  I will keep you posted.

Thank you.
