Hi Preston, thanks for your reply

Dunno about a high in Colorado—thought a low temp would be more likely

Here we’re having major heatwaves

I looked at the Performance ind & that refers only to increases/decreases in $
from a point

All I’m trying to do is identify very simply is -- indentify the “previous
high ( ie a peak) “ and then count from that

I’m ok with basic code but the supposedly simple things ie the last high – is
throwing me a loop

Eg you would think that Peak Bars Ago would do the trick but no.

I’m using an Expert show the code result so I know where I am but PeakBarsAgo
( as per the book ) plots almost every bar as a Peak

Maybe I’m going about it the wrong way

I just plotted an indicator of Peakbars(1,H,5) per the book ( instead of an
Expert) and it plotted the highs pretty well – sometimes a day or two early
but the Zigzag doesn’t always get the high etc – that’s a start

I’ve been messing around with this for days and thought the Expert was the
right way to test the method – how wrong can I be?

My question now – why does the expert plot on nearly every bar whereas the
indicator plots reasonably well?

The book says – plots the number of bars that have passed from the Nth peak
( i used a 1 ie last peak )—

I was expecting a “ number” ? -- or in the case of the Expert, plot a dot

However it plots a dot on almost every bar

Your advice appreciated

Keith

Keith,

The best place to find a good high right now is Colorado. :-)

Yesterday's high is Ref(high,-1)

If you would rather look at performance then you might consider the performance
indicator

Per(Ref(high,-1))

Preston
