To each there own but I like military paint schemes on aircraft. It also
seems that most aircraft are painted so why is the fact that it is painted
imply that it is hiding something? I know I am inviting the wrath of the
libs here but I think that the stars and bars is a peace symbol.

Not to be a poop, but what's all that paint hiding? Damage history? Not
that there's anything
wrong with that, most Ercoupes (including mine) have been rolled up into a

ball a time or two.

But red and white with USAAF stars and bars? Must look like a captured
Ruskie Yak
hybrid!

I dunno. To me the Ercoupe is the ultimate peace-time aircraft. If it
should have any
insigniae they should be great big peace signs. Think about it. They came
about when
the world was ready for peace, fun, and family. Father and youngster
enjoying the air
in a world free of Hitler, Mussolini, and likewise bastards. The idea of
one having military
insignia (even though I know some did) is sort of like running a basset
hound up to a
bad guy and saying 'sic em.'

Yeah. right. Might lick him to death.
