Hi Jeff,

First I am going to assume that the damage is confined to just holes in
the
fabric and if this is so my guess is that if the fabric is tired enough to
get holes in it from hail and the rest of the aircraft does not look like
it was beat up with a ball pean hammer then your fabric is very suspect
and
should be replaced I would think. The good news is that this is not a real
big job on a Coupe and with the new covering systems you should be able to
do it in a week of vacation if you have the wings all ready to go
(inspected and cleaned up, new wire and that sort of thing) and you have
ALL of the required material and tools on hand. Also keep in mind that it
is a major repair and will require an IA and a 337 for the return to
service. The job is easy and if you can get some help from your A&P or IA
just to make sure all is right at each way point you can have some real
fun
doing the job and will get to know every inch of your wings. It would also
be the right time to have the Ailerons properly inspected and cleared of
corrosion.

Good luck with it.

If it turns out that you just need to patch the holes then that is only a
one or two day job not counting the cosmetics of matching the paint.

Best regards,
Vern

Went out to go flying after work today, and discovered that last Monday
nite's hailstorm had put about 10-12 holes in each wing. The insurance
guys will be out next week, but fabric seems to be sort of a lost art, so
does anybody know of a good fabric and paint shop in the Southeast to
recommend? I'm in Atlanta area. I did the wings on a Coupe myself once
about 30 years ago, so I can take a week of vacation and do a lot of the
grunt work myself - unless that would cost more!! Might as well repaint
then while we're at it. Of course, insurance could just decide to total
the plane - but I hope not! Any advice appreciated.
