Richard,
AWESOME!!!
One of my day dreams is Telluride in my log
book. It is nice to know it is possible with planning.
My first long cross country after getting my
private pilot certificate was to Death Valley. (lowest airport in the
U.S.) Did you have to make arrangements with Telluride people for any
special training?
You write a nice story ("What a Rush").
Thanks for sharing it.

We know I am not the brightest guy on the block or is that crayon in the box. I showed this when I took 904 in to Aspen a few years ago, but this time I even out did myself. I took 904 in to Telluride at 9078 msl. I not only got in, but I got out. I have posted some photos and text at http://www27.brinkster.com/n99904/images/Telluride/what_a_rush.htm. To be honest, I wouldnt recommend it in a Coupe. Density altitude was about 8,300 ft. It is amazing what cold weather can do for you.
