One more for the young dogs/old pups collection, I'm 59, gonna be 60 in August. Soloed on my 16th birthday in a Super Cub, Cessna 182, Cessna 310 and Beech 18 (family airplanes), at the time of my first solo I had logged over 500 hours of dual (started at age 9). Got my first Ercoupe at 18, N2863H, got this one two years ago, N2869H, only six numbers apart. Funny how we come full circle. Still think it is one of the most fun rides out there, except for maybe one of my four motorcycles ... For those who might remember my question the other day about recovering/repainting, my local shop finally got around to getting an estimate for the hail damage to my insurance co, there were 20 airplanes damaged on my field, and the estimate is almost 10K - wings, control surfaces and cowl as well. I think I'm gonna go with the Poly-Fiber process. Spent the better part of the last couple days patching up 34 holes in the wings in order to get her airworthy again until we can get to the recovering, pulled off the canopy cover for the first time only to find the windows shattered as well. Depending on how insurance settles with me, I think my plan will be to pull and cover the wings myself thru silver, strip the fuselage, and hopefully save enough by my sweat labor to cover a full paint job. So now I guess I get to look for paint schemes as well ... more fun! ========================================================================== ==== To leave this forum go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htm Search the archives on http://escribe.com/aviation/coupers/
