Hi All, (WRB speaking)

Marty's "Palm Pilot" standard is not ideal for those of us who selectively archive list postings. I also agree replies should be "short and pertinent", but suggest clarity as more important than shortness in the absolute.

If Kevin needs the "whole thread", he can compile such a personal compilation to keep (without inflicting it on all list subscribers).

This email, as an example, eliminates a lot of keystrokes even as I reply to two emails at once.

It's not always easy to respond clearly without re-writing much of the original post. There have been some I choose to respond "between the lines" of such an actual post.

The subjective exercise of reasonable judgement within acceptable guidelines is probably as close to a standard as is possible, presuming recipients may be reading either individual emails or a day's digest.
Since I'm on individual emails, I don't really know how stuff relates in digest form; but would presume threads easier to follow..

Regards,

WRB

I like haveing the whole tread in the replies. That way if I decide to keep one I have the whole thing together.

...extra lines on my Palm Pilot...each of us should trim our replies to posts to the bare minimum to try to keep these digests as short and pertinent as possible.
