Eye Guy, Just stay away from "Pilot Medical Solutions" so-called, lead by the idiotic David Hale. In the late 90s he succeeded in relieving me of about $310 and getting my med. file w/ FAA in OK City red-flagged. Hale is why I'm now a Sport Pilot - at least he didn't get me failed on a med. I'd be reluctant to try a similar type organization. Like they said, AOPA (Gary Krump is their guy, and he knows the deal). In New England, we have a very proactive regional flight surgeon, Dr. Paul Clark, who offered to go to bat for me, with a local AME, but he admitted that the OK City guys often didn't accept his pilot supporting positions. By then I saw Sport Pilot coming and fortunately laid low. PS- My cardiologist said he will fly with me and supported me to the FAA (and their asinine form letter which showed that they had not properly reviewed my data - dangerous bunch, if you want to fly). I'll stop - obviously it's a long story if I got into the whole thing.
