Dan,
Thanks. Yep, I sent those messages at 1:28 p.m.
ct after I notice things were down.
It’s good to test before using my secret watch to call Superman. (Unfortunately, Superman is working
very long hours at his day job, near deadline on a major product release, and
just now got a chance to power-cycle the mutinous router that’s causing the
problems.)
I’ll time-stamp the test
messages next time so we can see how long my test e-mail was drifting around
the Internet waiting for the chance to sneak into Tom’s server. It’s something of a measure of Tom’s
overtime and late hours.
Tom, if you read this,
please know that we appreciate you hosting the list. I hate sending you the problem messages at this part of your
overtime crunch. No problem, for
me at least, in hanging on till you get a chance to pound on the router. If you want, we’d be happy to pass a
hat for a replacement router (as long as you’re using a normal priced home one –
not a commercial $10,000 super-router).
