Contintntal makes a breather tube with the extension...It is quite expensive....So making one equaL TO OR BETTER,  may make sense.

In running the Engine to 2400 - 2575 (C-85) red line, the turning crankshaft  throws oil into the breather pipe; that evidently does not occur at 2250 rpm....(c-75)... So they made the extension available at about $300.. This blocks the oil thrown from the Crankshaft, aND THE  fitting also has a hole drilled in the bottom position to allow any oil thrown into the fitting to drain back into the engine.
